COLCHESTER FISH & GAME
HUNTING & FISHING REGULATIONS
Article I
The privilege of hunting and fishing on club land is for club members and immediate family members (Spouse, son and daughter) otherwise ineligible for membership.
Article II REQUIREMENTS & PRIVILEGES
A- A regular member over 18 years of age, is entitled to full creel and bag limits.
B- Intermediate (16-18) is entitled to full creel and bag limits.
C- Junior (12-15) must be accompanied by a regular member and the combined creel and bag limit of both must not exceed that of the regular member.
D- No regular member shall take a guest hunting or fishing on club land or stocked private land.
E- Landowner members can have guests on his or her land.
Article III FISHING LAWS
A- The following are prohibited on club bass and trout ponds
1. The use of more than one pole.
2. The use of live bait. (Shiners, dace, etc.)
3- Discard of rubbish.
4- Destroying of land or property.
B- Catch and release.
1. Barb less hooks only.
2. Do not release fish if bleeding.
3. No fishing after your limit is caught.
C- Open water regulations.
1. Season opens 6:00am the second Saturday of April.
2. Creel limit is 5 fish per member, per week (Article A,B,C,D)
3. On all days of stocking, which will be posted at the club, the pond will be closed.
4. The following morning of stocking days, fishing will begin at 6:00 am.
5. The club calendar week starts Saturday morning at 6:00 am and ends Friday.
D- Ice fishing.
1. Creel limit, 5 fish per member per week.
2. Method of fishing is by 1 tilt or 1 hand held jig.
Article IV HUNTING REGULATIONS
A- Laws comply with state of Connecticut.
B- Opening day-state of Connecticut opening day.
C- Bag limit-2 pheasants per member per day (4 pheasants per week)
D- Migratory birds- conforms to state regulations.
E- Members stocking and hunting shall not hunt where he or she stocks for that day.
Article V TRAPPING
A- Conforms to state regulations.
Article VI
A-Please wear your identification badge
B-Please practice thoughtful field manners whenever you go a field.
C- Show courtesy and respect for property, help keep land open for club use, through the generosity of the landowner.
D- Show your appreciation to the club and landowner for this privilege.
